Quick Answer: Best Places To Stay In Jaipur India

15 Places To Visit In Jaipur For Couples

Things to do In Jaipur India

1. City Palace

The City Palace is the heart of the pink city. In addition to the colourful buildings, complete with potted marigolds and turbaned guards, there is an interesting costume and textile museum in the palace. The City Palace is insanely colourful and joyous, particularly if you’re here for Mathura Holi.
Most impressive are two enormous silver urns that Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh II used to carry water from the Ganges River with him when he visited England in 1901. So make sure you visit the city palace and marvel at the two huge silver urns. This is one of the best places to visit in Jaipur for couples, you won’t want to miss it!

Woodblock Printing; Jaipur India

2. Woodblock Printing Workshop

Hand block printed fabrics are easy to find throughout Jaipur, and they make great souvenirs. However, learning how to do the block printing yourself makes an even better souvenir and is a fun experience. So why not have a crack at one of the best things to do in Jaipur India on your vacation.
The lesson takes place in a tiny workshop on the outskirts of Jaipur. It starts with the basics, stamping patterns on newspapers, before progressing to printing multiple coloured patterns on fabric. By the end of the half-day workshop, you have two pieces of hand-printed fabric to take home. It’s such a fascinating insight into the process and the skill of the artisans who spend their lives hand printing.
Finish the workshop with a trip to a nearby paper-making factory to see the process of hand-making paper. A woodblock printing workshop is a rarity in this day and age, which is why it’s one of the best things to do in Jaipur India.

4. Amber Fort

Amber Fort is one of the best-preserved and most interesting forts in India. Go early in the morning when the whole fort glows golden in the soft light. A pool at the bottom of the hill makes a beautiful reflecting pond when the surface is still. Amber Fort is one of the best places to visit in Jaipur for couples.
You can ride an elephant up to the fort, but you should research this first so you can make an informed decision on the ethics of this experience. Personally, we do not promote riding elephants of any kind and proudly support ethical animal tourism. It’s not far to the fort entrance so walking is an easy, cruelty-free alternative.
Amber Fort is large, and exploring all the hallways, hidden rooms and open courtyards will take several hours. Headsets are available for a self-guided audio tour.  Don’t miss the harem where women were hidden behind screens and never allowed to leave, and the spectacular Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors). Tuk Tuk India

6.Tuk Tuk Ride

The traffic in Jaipur has to be experienced to be believed. Western road rules do not apply. The best way to fully experience the seeming chaos is to take a tuk-tuk.
Sit back and have faith that you will miss the oncoming cars, trucks, motorbikes and other tuk tuks. Believe that you will successfully swerve around the cows and dogs that lying in the middle of the road, soaking up the warmth and getting stoned on exhaust fumes; the goats, sheep and pigs rummaging through trash; and the odd camel and elephant wandering your way.
Expect to avoid the pedestrians crossing right in front of you; the cycle rickshaws heading straight towards you, and the taxis playing chicken with you. Somehow, someway, it all works and the chances are high (though not guaranteed) that you will arrive in one piece. This is not for the faint-hearted but is a quintessential Indian experience.
Tip: Make sure you agree on a price, including how many people, pieces of luggage, etc. are included, before you start.

You’d rather not think about all of the things that might go wrong on your honeymoon in Jaipur India, but these things can and do happen. We like to think of travel insurance as a safety net, as it’s saved our butts big time on more than one occasion. We had our bags stolen, with passports, cameras and a decent chunk of money, and thanks to travel insurance we were able to replace these valuable items.
I fell ill on our honeymoon and had to spend a week in the hospital, which racked up a huge debt. Without travel insurance, we would have been in thousands of dollars of debt.
